Getting started

up103 turns your own Korean study notes into listening practice: you log what you studied, the app tracks the grammar you’ve covered, writes a short Korean text you can somewhat understand, speaks it, and packages it as an Anki deck. Here’s your first session, start to finish.

1. Sign in

Go to app.up103.com and enter your email. You’ll get a magic link — no password to remember. Clicking the link signs you in.

2. Set your starting level

On the Grammar tab, tick off the grammar points you’ve already studied. This tells the app where you are, so the texts it writes for you use grammar you’ve actually seen. Don’t overthink it — a rough pass is enough, and every session you log keeps the profile up to date from then on.

3. Log a study session

On the Log tab, add what you studied today. Photographing your handwritten notes is the featured path — just snap the page — but typed notes work too. The app reads your notes, summarizes them, and updates your grammar profile with what they cover.

4. Generate your first deck

On the Decks tab, generate a card. The app writes a short Korean text built from the grammar you’ve covered, generates audio for it, and gives you a .apkg file to download.

5. Import into Anki

Open the downloaded file with Anki (double-click it, or File → Import). Each card has the audio on the front and the Korean text plus notes on the back: listen first, try to follow, then flip to check.

That’s the loop. Keep logging sessions as you study, and generate a fresh deck whenever you want new listening material — it grows with what you’ve learned.
